Using seed-funding data, we looked at today's cohort of very young funded companies and pieced together a sense of the technologies startup investors see most impacting our lives in future years. Eleven companies joined The Crunchbase Unicorn Board in January 2024 — the first double-digit monthly count in more than a year. Now, monday sales CRM users can enrich their CRM records with Crunchbase's best-in-class proprietary company data to quickly identify qualified opportunities and inform outreach. While the first half of January saw some nice-sized funding rounds for AI startups, extremely big rounds were nonexistent. February, however, has told a very different story. Securing a Series A marks the closest thing to an official graduation from seed to early stage, but some startups take much more time to get there than others, if they make it at all. Between The Eras Tour and Barbenheimer, 2023 was a big year for consumers. Still, venture funding for the media, entertainment, and gaming industry declined.
